intro

"Loud and proud" dance record from the Netherlands' Junior Jack, which features the Cure's Robert Smith on guest vocals

I have to confess that I do like dancing, but I’m not though a dance music fan. This is a dance record, loud and proud, and features four mixes of ‘Da Hype’.The mixes consist of : 1. A radio mix which is short and could really be of a 7” nature. 2. Junior Jack’s original club mix which doesn’t feature our Robert, but which is still great. 3. An extended vocal version. 4. A Warren Clarke remixed vocal dub. ‘Da Hype’ basically comes across as a housed up intro to the Human League’s ‘Don’t You Want Me’, which has been set to an upbeat happy and perky Robert Smith vocal. This is unlike anything else you will have heard by the Cure’s mainman, so come in without a blinkered opinion and dance the club down. One of the nice things about ‘Da Hype’ is that there is a mid song break that fades as if you were leaving the club for the toilet or a snog, and then it gets louder as if you were returning to the main room until it’s totally in your face. Very clever and absolutely brilliant !
