intro
Unfortunately disappointing posthumous indierock from British duo Since I Was a Little Girl, one of whose members was killed in a car crash last year
The story of the duo Since I Was A Little Girl is a tragic one. Teenagers Jamie Cameron and James MacDonald met two years ago and started making music together after finding out they liked many of the same bands. According to their label's website, they gained some major label interest before deciding to sign to the small indiepop label Where It's At Is Where You Are (WIAWYA), who released their debut untitled EP towards the end of last year. Sadly, this seems to be the only release from the duo as they were both involved in a car crash last summer which tragically killed James. On the other hand, I don't think I would have wanted to hear more from the duo. At least not if they had kept on making music that sounds like this EP. It starts off well with 'A Nice Drive', but after that we are thrown into 'She's OK Tomorrow', which is a big chunk of that quite horrible indierock that is very popular in the US. Names like Smashing Pumpkins pops into my head, although without Billy Corgan's very annoying voice. And it keeps on going like this for most of the time, and sadly I must say that this isn't my cup of tea at all. The aforementioned website also talks of the influences as being Tears For Fears and Talk Talk among others. I wish they would have sounded more like them...
