Land Of Nod / P. A. T. E. (cornelisu) - Eddy / Shinkai Cruisin # 2
Label: Ochre Records
Format: 7"

intro

Split limited edition 7" featuring post rockers the Land of Nod and Japanese band P.A.T.E, which has been put out as the first release of the Ochre label's new singles club

This 7" is the first single on the new 7" singles club from the Ochre label. The Land Of Nod's 'Eddy' is very different from the version of the tune which appears on their recent album 'Inducing the Sleep Sphere'. It's very experimental, and quiet in places, but at other points it is more jazzy. Throughout though it is very original. By the end of it you wouldn't think you have been listening to a Nod track. It has a crazy feeling. P.A.T.E are Japanese. The start of their track, 'Shinkai Cruisin', sounds very post rock and reminds me of the 'Alien' soundtrack. P.A.T.E. stands for Pop Art Tradition Experiment. 'Shinkai Cruisin' is short and quiet and very laid back which is weird because I have read that normally they draw comparisions with the Stooges, MC5 and acts from the Paisley pop era. Very strange. This is a limited edition pressed in lightish blue vinyl and plays at 33 rpm.

Track Listing:-
1 P.A.T.E.– Shinkai Crusin #2 (The Land Of Nod Remix)
2 The Land Of Nod– Eddy (The P.A.T.E. Remix)
