Our Website of the Month this month is a Portland, Oregon based independent music dedicated webzine and shop, Nexus Underground

www.nexusunderground.com is a Portland, Oregon based webzine and shop that is dedicated exclusively to independent music and , as its creators say, to "pop bliss, pop lo-fi, pop shoegazer, pop beautiful pop etc.” The Nexus site is manned by 9 staff who tackle a wide range of tasks from A& R to site updates, promotion, bookings and advertising. Nexus's main aim is to provide a wide range of information and knowledge on any independent music related subject that fans might find interesting. The site gives each of its featured groups its own individual web page, providing upon it a description or a biography, interviews, reviews, news, photos, sound samples and links. Many of these are submitted by the Nexus staff themselves, while others come directly from musicians and fans, or other webzines and magazines that permit Nexus to use their material. The Nexus shop exclusively sells CDs by a variety of American bands, including several which members of the Nexus staff perform in. Alternatively, if you are an artist then you can sell yourown music after first registering and then creating your own page. Present popular featured bands include the Jesus and Mary Chain, the Dandy Warhols, Spiritualized, My Bloody Valentine, Silver Surfer, Ride, Sister Vanilla and Pennyblackmusic favourites La Nuit Americiane.
