intro
Decidely mixed final 7" offering from the long lasting stars of Brit pop
Elastica return to 7" vinyl to leave is in the way they first came to us. This, like their debut release 'Stutter', is mega limited. But while 'Stutter' grabbed you by the balls, 'The Bitch Don't Work' is sorry to say unfortunately really poor. It could be by any back room punk rock band, playing in any of Camden's pubs' to a handful of rock hangers on. If this was on a major label, it would be a good reason to drop the band. On the other hand though, flip the disc over and check out the B side. The excellent 'No Good' is a cracker of a song, well thought out, well played with a great bass line, well delivered and hey there's actually a good set of lyrics in there, which is more than can be said for the A side which is a rushed mess, a bit like a 7" version of their second album. Buy for the B side alone !
