Loud is Spanish, but sings in English. He has a really fantastic voice, which carries this EP. above being average. All the four tracks are based around a synthesiser backing which could be described as simplistic. It can, however, be rather effective, as shown on the excellent first track 'Delusion'. The title comes from the fact that all four songs feature sad love lyrics (break ups etc.) but are upbeat in sound. "Delusion" stands out from the other four tracks by a long way. It has the best backing, based less around synth beats and more around the keyboards. It is the song, however that shines, and which is very catchy. The final track 'Love Will Not Save You' is the other standout moment, and again the backing is not based around synth beats, but lots of synth strings and flutes. I expect that you have realised that Loud is not to everybody's tastes, and it is true that many projects such as this end up sounding tacky. Loud , however, has a great voice and seems to be a good songwriter. Essentially, Loud is very talented and whilst the tracks are hit and miss (two very good, two pretty weak), at single prices it is acceptable. Worth the money, I'm sure, for tracks One and Four alone. For fans of eighties pop groups and the more disco moments of Bis's 'Social Dancing' album.
