intro
Formulaic but enjoyable latest album from bestselling Canadian artist Bryan Adams
On his latest album 'So Happy It Hurts', Canadian Bryan Adams takes few risks, sticking closely to the styles that made him a huge star. Produced in lockdown, the new record features Adams playing guitar, keyboard, bass and drums with songs about cars, bars, blue jeans and baseball caps. It is a pleasant enough listen - though perhaps not hugely original. The punchy title track sees Adams stepping on the gas with the radio on. On 'Kick Ass' he is greasing his gears. The Byrds-like 'Just Like Me, Just Like You' is a nicely nuanced, yearning song whilst 'These Are The Moments That Make Up My Life' is a cheerful portrait of everyday domestic bliss. Probably Bryan Adams is best appreciated live, however, performing his powerful blue collar rock. And his many British fans will be happy to know he will be touring the UK again from 9 May.
