intro
Deceptively upbeat but lyrically dark download only single from of Arrowe Hill, the band of London-based singer-songwriter Adam Easterbrook
After a period of time where of Arrowe Hill were essentially a solo project – consisting solely of singer/guitarist/songwriter Adam Easterbrook, aka Lord Kitchenknife – the band has now returned to a three-piece set-up, with Ian O’Sullivan and Jason Hobart joining on drums and bass respectively. This new, download-only single is the first to come from the band’s forthcoming album, ‘A Conspiracy of Clocks’. ‘Around the Corner’ is a 60’s pop tune with flavours of the Beatles and Gilberto Gil, a bossa nova to ease you, grooving into the summer season before the suspicion dawns on you that the lyrics might be taking us somewhere darker than that swinging tune suggests… Well, this is of Arrowe Hill after all.
