intro
Soulful-sounding, but badly mixed second solo single from electronic artist and former Ou Est Le Swimming Poool front man, Caan Capan
This is the fantastically named Caan Capan's second single. Billed as "bass heavy, electronic pop noir", 'Every Little Thing' is a strange mix of soulful lyrics and vocals with a heavy and distracting bass drum under lay. It threatens to overwhelm the vocals and beautiful piano. It weaves in and out, louder, softer, alternating between muffling the vocal and not and while on one hand it forces the listener to really pay attention it also risks turning the ears off completely. The radio edit is backed by two remixes. The Stockholm Radio edit scales the insistent beat back to something far easier to listen too and enjoy. The hook is much more evident. The vocal track remains at a constant level. Third is the Dynamikk Remix starts by stripping the electronics back even further, slowing everything down and spending first minutes playing about. I really wish the first two tracks were the other way round. Caan's debut album is nearing completion.
