intro
Authentic and mellow- sounding country rock on latest single from London-based band, the Rockingbirds
The Rockingbirds have been around for 22 years. but there was a 13 year gap in the middle, not that I think it shows. 'Till Something Better Comes Along' starts with a rock riff and country- twanging vocals. It is mellow, and there is a aura of slight whiskey roughness and world weariness tempered by a sense of sunshine and a fresh breeze. There is self confidence and assurance in this single, but it isn't flashy or self conscious. I suppose in theory you could line dance to this if you were so inclined, but the Rockingbirds are more authentic than the usual country 'lite' of the Mavericks and good ol' Billy Ray Cyrus. Even if the very word 'country' is enough to turn you off, I would suggest giving this one a listen anyway.
