intro
Delicate, but honest-sounding debut single from North East England-based sibling four-piece, the Cornshed Sisters
For once the band name would seem to be accurate. Jennie, Cath, Liz and Marie are indeed sisters as well as folky musos. This is their debut single, taken from their debut album 'Tell Tales' which is due for release in early April. Is that a ukulele I hear? A soft intro with a single sweet and soulful vocal slowly swells with the introduction of piano and then the remaining sisters harmonise into the chorus. There are shades of Belle and Sebastian here, the lyrics are steered by the music, ebbing and flowing. This is a delicate and beautiful song about lost love and friendship. It sounds honest, simple, unpolished. I think I may be slightly in love with the Cornshed Sisters - all 4 of them.
