intro
Stunning if over priced seven inch vinyl offering from Scottish group and Japanese band the Pastels, the first from their joint new album.
'Vivid Youth is the first single from Scottish group the Pastels and Japanese band the Tenniscoats' joint new album, 'Two Sunsets' 'Vivid Youth' has a gentle and warm vocal from the Tenniscoats' female singer Saya. She has the sort of voice that could talk you into entering a swimming pool for the first time even if you were scared. The music that accompanies her vocals starts off sounding like the music from 'Trumpton', but it develops into something quite beautiful and stunning. 'About You', the B side, is cover a song from the Jesus and Mary Chain, that comes from their second album, 'Darklands', and which achieves the impossible as it is even better then the original. It adds just enough Velvet Underground grooves to make it shine more brightly than the Reid brothers' initial version. Both tracks appear on a very expensive seven inch which costs £4 a copy, but both tracks are also available on the album.
