Not always convincing avant-garde cabaret pop on new download EP from former choirboy soprano and English musician, Fredo Viola

The mixture of smart music and animation brought Fredo Viola YouTube fame but this former choirboy soprano has a go at minimal cabaret with the same ease. Sometimes he seems to get stuck in his own cleverness, but this EP has a great title track plus a sharp and funky mix by Fink of title track of his debut album, 'The Turn'. Viola flirts with avant-garde, but not always very convincingly. Ah, well, it's only a download EP. Rather sophisticated however.
