intro
Typically black humoured rock on thirteenth album from Belfast trio Therapy ?, which proves to be one of their best album in years
The band with the question mark is back. On their 13th album would you believe it, they show no sign of slowing down, packing it in and calling it a day ? On opening track 'The Head That Tried to Strangle Itself', Therapy ? are in typical black comedy mode, brooding and creepy. This is going to be surely to be a new live favourite when added to their roster of anthems and is right up there with the classic 'Teeth Grinder'. Next up is 'Enjoy The Struggle', which, with its staccato bass as standard, is a rocking beast of a number. You would never guess from it this band listen to Big Black. Perhaps stranger is ten minute plus instrumental, 'Magic Mountain', which finds the group in a jamming mood. Stand out track of the album, 'I Told You I Was Ill', sees the band’s pitch black humour show up again in typical fashion, taking its title from Spike Milligan’s headstone epitaph. 'Crooked Timber' is one the band’s best albums in years and is worthy of a repeated listening. It is good to the Belfast mob back.
