intro
First class new single from REM, the first from their forthcoming album, 'Accelerate'
‘Supernatural Superserious’ is the first single from REM’s forthcoming new album, ‘Accelerate’, which is due out at the end of March. It is first class REM, very loud and in-your-face, classic material, This is what the band do best, create an instant hit with big riffs, massive drums and smooth backing vocals from Mike Mills. Michael Stipe meanwhile here has a commanding presence. The B side is a garage-like instrumental called ‘Airliner’. REM have decided here to have some fun, coming up with something psychedelic and jangly and also very 60's flavoured. A very welcome return indeed.
