Label: Blue Rose Records

intro

Mellow new album from ever prolific and always reliable former Dream Syndicate frontman, Steve Wynn

I have been listening to Steve Wynn forever (Well 19 years now) and he has never ever disappointed me ever. Unlike most prolific artists, he has never done that duff album. 'Static Transmission' sees him reunited with fellow L.A. musician and friend Chris Cacavas, the founding member and keyboardist with the now disbanded Green On Red. 'Static Transmission' is just as instant as any Wynn album but is more mellow than his last double album 'Here Come The Miracles' which saw him return to his former band Dream Syndicate's abrasive vibe for a good chunk of the album. This album mixes good time rocker numbers with classic songwriting. His fine tales are far ahead of the game. He puts most others to shame. Everything that comes from Steve's mouth is believable and he lives in the same world as me and you. These are not tales of the mega rich or the cool and trendy jet set. These are songs to live your life too. Long may you rock, Mr. Wynn.
