Heartfelt C86-influenced twee pop on limited edition EP from French band, the Morning Favorites
Review
The Morning Favorites are from France, and 'The Singles EP' is limited to just one hundred copies.
'Every Single Day' kicks it off which completely captures the spirit of C86 without sounding dated at all, and has a drumbeat pace to it which doesn't take anything away from it at all. It is as heartfelt as Trembling Blue Stars and as bright as anything on Sarah Secords. As it moves along, this blissful song develops a New Order vibe.
'No Great Escape' recalls the Field Mice and is both heartwarming and very inviting, definitely a song for those bedsit charmers of the world. 'That's How It Is' has a different vocalist and drive to it, but still quite charming in a very 80's way.
A complete joy from start to finish.
