Sad Day for Puppets - When You Tell Me That You Love Me

Label: Sonic Cathedral
Format: 7"
Fine shoegazing pop from Stockholm-based band Sad Day for Puppets on new debut A sided vinyl and only single on the Sonic Cathedral label

Review

This latest seven inch and download on the London-based club night and shoegazing label Sonic Cathedral comes from Sweden's Sad Day for Puppets. The band are fronted by blonde-haired singer Anna Eklund and are from Stockholm, having formed in 2006. They have spent a lot of time in the UK recently. 'When You Tell Me That You Love Me' has a vocal from Anna that is reminiscent of Nina Persson from the Cardigans and is backed by a solid rock backing beat, that quickly has you bopping along to its beat. 'Withering Petals and Dust' is a decent rock number in the style of 90's indie rock bands such as Dinosaur Jr

Track Listing:-

1 When You Tell Me That You Love Me

Sad Day for Puppets - Leaf Cafe Bar, Liverpool, 20/4/2011
Despite running nearly an hour late, Richard Lewls is impressed by Swedish group Jeniferever and local act the Wild Eyes' emotive post rock at a show at the Leaf Cafe Bar in Liverpool
