Crystal Stilts - Departure

Label: Angular Records
Format: 7"
Fine Cure-influenced vinyl only single from new Brooklyn-based band, Crystal Stilts

Review

Crystal Stilts are a new Brooklyn-based band currently touring Britain at the moment, and whom a friend told me I would like as I like The Cure. ‘Departure’ sounds a lot like the Cure's ‘Jumping Someone Else's Train’, but singer Brad Huggett’s vocals recall those of Jim Reid or even Andrew Eldritch from the Sisters of Mercy. Flute and gritty guitars give it an edge. Its B side, ‘Prismatic Room’, is very psychedelic and Brad’s vocals on it sound like Jonathan Richman on a trip.

Track Listing:-

1 Departure
2 Prismatic Room
