Enjoyable vinyl only electronic/indie rock from Anglo-Icelandic band Fields
Review
This heavy vinyl 7 inch follows on from the Anglo-Icelandic electronic/indie band Fields’ previous heavy vinyl 7 inch etched one track single, ‘Heretic’, which came out a few months back.
‘Song for the Fields’ plays at 33rpm. It starts off with a hippy, folkish vibe. A loud acoustic guitar combines with singer Nick Peill’s squeaky vocal which is reminiscent of Robert Plant from Led Zeppelin, before the song picks up speed and energy, and turns into a fast Gothic shoegazing number. It is a long track and one to get completely lost in.
‘Nine Stones’ returns to 45rpm. It features a strong acoustic guitar and is sung as a duet between Nick and synthesiser player Þórunn Antonía in a doomy but rose tinted Paisley Pop fashion.
Lovely !
