Review
'Run for Our Lives' is the latest EP from Australian quintet the Morning After Girls.
'Run for Our Lives' begins as an acoustic number, before going electric with a 'You Really Got Me' style Kinks groove and a vocal from singer Scott Von Ryper that comes across as a combination between the Dandy Warhols' Courtney Taylor and the Teenage Fanclub's Norman Blake.
'Straight Through You' is rocky with Byrds-style jangles. It is charming and sun filled but you sense it was written and performed in tight black leathers.
'Lazy Grey', which was recorded for a WXNY radio session, sounds like an acoustic Jesus and Mary Chain.
This whole EP is great.
