King Creosote - Not One Bit Ashamed

Label: Select Label
Format: CDS
New single from the acclaimed King Creosote, who seems to take most of his inspirtion from the under-rated Chris Knox

Review

I'm stumped that Chris Knox of Tall Dwarfs fame still isn't a recognised hero and not ranking amongst the likes of Buckley, Drake et al. It is probably because he's a healthy chap and still alive. His legacy though is pretty evident on recent releases, such as the crop from Scotland's the Fence Collective. King Creosote's 'Not One Bit Ashamed', which is culled off their second album 'KC Rules OK', comes in three versions each one contending for the Tall Dwarfs Appreciation Society Competition. I played Chris Knox's 'Not Given Lightly' straight after and 'Not One Bit Ashamed (Modlang mix)' - the superior version of the threesome - survived that comparison. The same gentle approach, the same nice rolling over the piano keys; King Creosote is not one bit ashamed of polishing up a good copy. The vocals even go out of tune in the same way.

Track Listing:-

1 678 (Radio Edit)
2 And The Racket They Made
3 Not One Bit Ashamed (Modlang Mix)
