Middle-of-the-road and predictable debut single from new Norwich based Gang of Four-inspired alt. rockers, Le Tetsuo
Review
With a track called 'Knickers Off Ready When I Come Home' I was expecting a kinda art trash the Strokes meets the Datsuns kind of thing.
And guess what…….
That’s exactly what I got.
Another band feigning to the current trend of alt.rock, Gang of Four guitars with moderately shocking lyrics about the twisted lives of suburban middle classers.
Not bad, not necessarily good, just middle of the road. There is nothing particularly bad about the CD but then there is no shining moment either. Although the intro to the title track of the CD is pretty cool with a bit of an 80’s two tone vibe going on but once the singing starts we again enter bland land.
To be fair the band have pretty cool melodies and stuff but as my flatmate aptly pointed out
“Its just muzak mate, it’s got no spark”
I get the vibe that this band will be better live probably amazing and will promptly make me eat my words and if the band want to invite me to a live show then I will happily come along and prepare myself to be wowed!
