Superb, but sleazy electro pop on latest single from (Strangers), the present band of former Departure singer David Maddox-Jones
Review
(Strangers) get better for me with every release. David Maddox-Jones is now on band number three, but never one to sit still long enough to get bored his work has always been alive and fresh. All his projects have had an 80's edge to them and (Strangers) have been quite prolific in their short life time to date.
'Safe/Pain' might be described as being like the soundtrack to the mind of Christian Grey from 'Fifty Shades of Grey' in song form. David's vocal on it is crisp in sound, and, backed by an electro band, this is as infectious as good pop should be. He hits the notes, consuming them, controlling them, and turns 'Safe/Pain' into a fine piece of work.
Its bonus track is the Youan remix, which is as odd as Christian Grey's mind, very housey and club-based but it works well.
