Review

‘The Bones Saying No To The Needle’ is the first single from psychedelic rock troubadours Of Arrowe Hill’s upcoming fourth LP which, on the basis of this track, seems like it’s going to be every bit as good as their last release, 2007’s 'Dulce Domum'. ‘The Bones…’ could perhaps be described as being a cacophony, or a racket, but personally I’d describe it as a rumpus of a record – I always thought a rumpus sounded like something that might go on in a gentlemen’s club when it all kicks off; chairs being broken, brandy glasses smashed asunder and moustaches severely ruffled. Of Arrowe Hill could almost certainly supply the soundtrack to such an event, playing balls-to-the-wall, bona-fide, arse-kicking rock’n’roll from atop the billiards table as monocles fly overhead. If Of Arrowe Hill have escaped your musical radar up til now, expand your horizons and seek seek them out; it’s one of the best favours you could do for yourself.
