After getting a taste of The Golden Dregs' work at the Roundhousee, Steev Burgess attended the band's largest headlining show so far at London's Village Underground on the 6th April in Shoreditch. Singer Benjamin Woods, who hails from Truro, has been referred to as the Cornish Cohen, due to his deep voice and poetic lyrics, yet he is more of a Raymond Carver than a Garcia Lorca. These days the songs are comfortably couched in a beautiful blend of voices and instruments of a seven and sometimes eight piece band that have a graceful, angelic quality as a backdrop to Ben's restless exploration of the stage.
