Norwegian singer-songwriter Sigrid has released her second album ‘How To Let Go’, the follow-up to the chart-storming ‘Sucker Punch’. Sigrid says, “The concept of ‘how to let go’ is the thread that runs through the album and through my life – just letting go of things you say, of people that have hurt you, or situations where I have been stupid…. life is about letting go and moving on”. This new release extends her synth-pop sound against a backdrop of reflective, cathartic lyrics. Highlights of this twelve-track collection include: the opener and sci-fi inspired rock ballad and single ‘It Gets Dark’ with its message of resilience about accepting tough times and moving on: “It gets dark so I can see the stars”; the lead single and energetic upbeat disco anthem ‘Mirror’ with its self-empowering lyrics: “I love who I see lookin’ at me/In the mirror…”; the contemplative, sparse piano ballad ‘Last To Know’, which highlights Sigrid’s powerful voice; the fun tribute to Uber drivers ‘A Driver Saved My Life’; ‘Bad Life’, an intimate, emotive duet with Sheffield band Bring Me The Horizon’s lead singer Oli Sykes; the acoustic, layered harmonies of ‘Grow’; and the closer, the melodic upbeat ‘High Note’ with its soaring vocals. ‘Sigrid's new 'How To Let Go’ album is an assured next stage for this explorative, distinctive musician.
