Bill Gray takes photographs of folk/pop group the Dunwells at the Oran Mor in Glasgow
Article
The Dunwells are a four-piece harmonic group centred around brothers Joe Dunwell (vocals, acoustic guitar) and David Dunwell (vocals, piano, guitars, banjo) and cousins Jonny Lamb (vocals, drums) and Rob Clayton (bass, vocals).
Forming in 2009, the Dunwells started out by playing open mic nights and pubs in their local Leeds. After being talent-spotted at a show in London, the group were invited to perform at the 2011 Folk Alliance International in Mephis, Tennessee and shortly afterwards signed with the Austin, Texas-based label Playing In Traffic Records.
Their debut album, 'Blind Sighted Faith', came out in 2012 to much acclaim. The goup's emotionally driven, anthemic rock has proved steadily popular, and in April they played a six date tour of the UK to packed houses.
These photographs from Bill Gray were taken on that tour at a show at the Oran Mor in Glasgow on the 18th April.
