Mikkel Meyer - Jolly EP

Label: Rump Recordings
Format: CDS
Energetic combination of dubstep and house music on new EP from Danish electronic musician, Mikkel Meyer

Review

This EP has been released on the Rump label from Denmark, which if taken literally can hardly imaginably sink any lower. Mikkel Meyer, however, struts forward onto the scene relentlessly. His EP of juicy dubstep and bubbling tech house, named after a tacky cola brand found down his local supermarket, brings solace to adventure deprived DJ producers and freak dancers alike. Perhaps a tad bit too Germanic, Michael Maher seamlessly melts and molds the beats. The five tracks off this EP take up less to 30 minutes of your time, and yet it feels like one great burst of energy. Indeed resembling the opening up of a can of beer, or cola. The five tracks on offer here represent Mikkel/Michael's compositional talent to the full. It is perhaps hard to noice initially, but genuinely talented he is.
