Case Hardin - PM

Label: Clubhouse Records
Format: CD
Tiresome and whinging Americana on third album from Berkshire and Oxfordshire-based band, Case Hardin

Review

“She pulls knees to my chest (...) tells morning is here". Oh, how deep does your love get? "She had three beautiful daughters, named after hurricanes". Case Hardin eagerly dwell on an impossible love affair. Going for a Will Oldham quickie, these lovetorn stories thankfully, however, last only a short while. A joint effort from Berkshire and Oxfordshire, Case Hardin whinge and whine on, with their East Anglican take on Americana. Their easily forgettable tunes are as flat as American FM college radio could ever wish for. 'Lady Hill' rounds off the first side of the LP version, but like the rest of that first half is a merry-go-round to nowhere. Side 2 leads to more of the same. 'PM' is an album you can safely put on repeat. Its tracks are interchangeable, and Case Hardin’s tiresome Americana will never upset the neighbours, let alone anyone else.
