June Brides - A January Moon/Cloud

Label: Occultation Recordings
Format: 7"
Stunning vinyl and download only first single and new material in twenty six years from the legendary indie pop outfit, the June Brides

Review

This is the first new material since 1986 from the legendary indie pop group, the June Brides. It has been released on 7 inch with a free download. If purchased online from their record company Occultation records, they will also throw in a free ten track CD of rare June Brides/Phil Wilson tracks. 'A January Moon' is a song that reminds you of a great summer, not that we are having one here! It is a pure indie pop number that sounds like the Smiths but orchestrated by Burt Bacharach. It is a song that slips into your memory and makes it a nice place to live. While everyone bangs on about it being a Stone Roses summer, this is definitely my song of the summer by a mile. 'Moon' on its B side is completely different. It is very moody and dark, and is is spoken more than sung, while the arrangement is fresh and exciting. For me, this single has no B side. It is a double AA side. Now, guys, how about a new album please?
