Promising debut single from already highly acclaimed Northampton-based electronic act, Decibels
Review
Northampton’s Decibels have been making a lot of noise recently, with extensive coverage on BBC Radio and a great deal of exposure on the blogosphere.
Their self-funded debut single 'The Lesser' has been released digitally, and the track will also appear on a forthcoming 'Bleep' compilation album.
The 'Lesser' is an upbeat electronic number, with a fantastic blend of pumping synths, sweet vocals and thumping bass. It’s one of those tracks which could be played pretty much anywhere – it has a great beat for playing in clubs and it’s melodic enough to listen to casually at home.
Stuart Bruce’s lead vocals blend seamlessly with his band mates’, and the musicianship on the single is excellent.
It is difficult to judge a band based on a single, but if this is reflective of Decibels’ material, I would suggest that they have a bright future.
