Gato Preto - Tschukudu

Label: Riot Riot Records
Format: 12"
Superb multi-layered global dance EP from duo Gato Preto

Review

Breakbeats go to Brazil. Gato Preto are Carmen Brown and Lee Bass, and which means Black Cat in Portuguese, They do an exhilarating mish mash which is like a carnival of wild extravaganza. Slants and beats emerge from just about every style; global dance music cannot cometh any better than this. On first hearing, the re-mix from Lyon's Flore stands out. Flore tamed the wild beast with her uplifting elegance. Her remix dares to challenge the original. From Belarus comes the hard hitting techno fueled mix by Access Denied, a guaranteed floor filler. The one for the trance music posse must be the Hanuman Tribe remix, though it has some wicked twists. A wealth of remixes is available on the web. Search for the 'freebie' EP.
