CANT - Dreams Come True

Label: Warp Records
Format: CD
Indecipherable and ultimately tiresome debut album from CANT, the solo project of Grizzly Bear's Chris Taylor

Review

Grizzly Bear's Chris Taylor has stepped off into territory he's not been known for in the past. He has knocked at the doors to Soul Factory to give his solo effort some kind of edge, but naming his own label as 'Terrible' has proved to be of very little assistance. This album on Terrible Records sounds not really that terrible, yet its name serves a guideline. 'Dreams Come True' is an indecipherable mixture. The low-key dubstep pop-tronics may occasionally provide a tune or two to move your hips to. Overall, however, 'Dreams Come True' ultimately sounds like a nightmare slipping down the kitchen sink and is a sad mish-mash. Bereft of any compositional quality, 'Dreams Come True' does go on and on. It is very much a solo-project that should not have been and is piss-poor to put it gently.
