Ramshackle, but unique and original-sounding electronica on lo-fi debut album from Japanese duo, Harmonious Bec
Review
Harmonious Bec are a duo from Japan. Their debut on London's small but steady Monotreme label is a mish mash ramshackle collection of offbeat electronica upon which they perform wizardry. The tingling glitch lounge of 'Her Strange Dreams' offers a wealth of goodies.
The concept of a monosound recording using today's technology is something of a challenge. These are raw, unpolished oddities with a healthy range of styles. Arty synth pop, unfinished little symphonies and on one track deranged hiphop with no vocals all make 'Her Strange Dreams' an original combination.
