This makes a handy introduction to the Singing Loins, spanning their 1990s phase as well as their reunion of a few years ago. Taken from the albums they recorded on Damaged Goods and earlier on on Billy Childish's Hangman Records, 'Authentic..' features 20 tracks. Their later work is a little milder, resulting in the almost catchy 'Please Take My Scissors Away'. This is bot just authentic but puritan street music which can be enjoyed at the seaside as well. They are a strapping troubadours on a mission and there's not much to add after their apt description of themselves in the title.
