My Laundry Life - First EP

Label: Edition 59 Records
Format: CDS
Sunny indie pop on first EP from German band, My Laundry Life

Review

'First EP' is the debut EP from Germany's finest indie pop band My Laundry Life, who have previously released two albums, 'The Art of Science' and 'How to Wallow in Shame'. 'You'll Be Ignored' opens the EP, which is as bright as a sunshine filled morning. A joyous ray of sunlight, it is a song to make you smile and throw your arms in the air and will appeal to fans of the Smiths, Sarah Records and the C-86 movement. 'When She's Gone' is ever so bright and perky and is as fresh as that band from Manchester that start with the letter 'S' when they were ever so young and the most important band in the world ever. This is a perfect slice of indie pop at it's best and is both bright and very clever. 'Like Tomorrow (Acoustic)' is stripped down and, taking everything down to the raw bone of true singer-songwriter craftmanship, will please any fan of this type of music. 'Sons and Guns (Acoustic)' is again stripped right down and sounds like a slice of Steve Wynn at his best. A great EP.
