Exquisite cabaret indie-pop on fourth album from Freeze Puppy, the moniker for Bristol musician Tom Wilson
Review
The new kid around Pickled Egg's HQ in Leicester is Freeze Puppy who cherishes in the type of cabaret indie-pop once championed by 4-tReck. There's absolutely nothing French about the Bristol-based Freeze Puppy however, yet the puppy is quite exquisite already. His fourth album already, but the first that I have got to hear, holds its breath for several tracks. When the penultimate track, 'Worth The Hike', comes along, you will most probably find yourself in an indie-electronica rump that, with great pleasure, you will find it hard to crawl out of.
'Animation' is a very short and concise set of snaptunes, ranging from lovely dreamscapes to unexpected jittery jewels like 'Hey Mr. (Softdrink)'.
