Kellarissa - Flamingo

Label: Mint Records
Format: CD
Multi-lingual synthesiser pop on impressive debut album from Kellarissa, the project of Canadian musician Larissa Loyva

Review

It's Larissa actually ! Larissa's first vocals on record were to be heard on releases from the Choir Practice and from P:ano. Larissa Loyva has, however, descended to what is known as her cellar, keller in German, and she has stitched Keller and Larissa to become her single artist name of Kellarissa. Ms. Loyva has nothing to be ashamed of, or worth hiding in the cellar for at all. 'Flamingo' is a collection of striking little beauties of composition as a matter of fact. Kellarissa smoothly changes singing in various languages. Before the first composition enriched by sing-along qualities appears, Kellarissa has showed already the ins-and-outs of miniature experimental composition. Her 'Flamingo' dances with grace, the pun fully intended there and the quality of mystery gets bigger with each listen.
