Dead Letter Office - Chairkickers

Label: DLO
Format: CDS
Bland indie rock from British-based leftfield group Dead Letter Office, who have toured with Howling Bells and the Young Gods

Review

Dead Letter Office have toured with the likes of Howling Bells, the Young Gods, Future Of The Left and the Subways which probably gives you a good idea of what to expect from them. They are often described as "a leftfield rock" act and their MySpace page says about them that they are "straddling the sonic boundaries between Muse, Interpol and Radiohead." 'Chairkickers', their latest one track single, starts enthusiastically. Strong keyboards, guitar and drums all chip in together. The whole song runs along quite nicely, but that is its problem. It is just too average-sounding and instantly forgettable. There is little to separate this song from the many that you hear on radio or music channel and there is nothing about it that sticks in your mind. Vocalist Benjamin Hiorns sings at one point, "We’ll never be part of the crowd." This offering is exactly that, more of the same bland indie rock which is aiming at the charts.

Track Listing:-

1 Chairkickers
2 The Comeback Kid
3 Chairkickers (Radio Edit)
