Trip-hop influenced second single from TV on the Radio's deservedly-acclaimed fourth album, 'Dear Science'
Review
Taken from their deservedly-acclaimed album 'Dear Science', the magnificent TV on the Radio release second single ‘Dancing Choose’, which moves away from the retro-style Bowie/Prince sound of ‘Golden Age’. ‘Dancing Choose’ opens with a droning, bassy synth before a trip-hop rhythm kicks in under Tunde Adebimpe’s rap-like vocals. We then get more synths, muted guitar sounds, saxophone and brilliant vocal harmonies as we come into a chorus which is in equal parts smooth and...well, not smooth. However you’d describe it, it sounds good.
B-side ‘Make Love All Night Long’ has just the right amount of sleaze you’d want from a title like that, taking more of the Prince influence that could be heard on ‘Golden Age’. This is worth the price of the single alone, but you also get a remix of ‘Dancing Choose’ by Prefuse 73 and another by Telepathe, who remixes album track ‘Crying’.
