Article

Indie night at Brooksbottom CC, Rowlands Road, Summerseat, Bury, Lancashire, BL9 5NG on Saturday 21 March 2009. Bristol's The Experimental Pop Band are playing and their singer, Davey Woodward is doing a solo set in support, including some tracks from his previous band, 1980's jingle-jangle pop gods, The Brilliant Corners, who during their heyday, were described as Bristol's answer to The Smiths. The whole evening will also be soundtracked by some classic indie tracks from the last 30 years, all lifted lovingly from Dixie Ernill's personal collection. So expect The Cure, The Smiths, Iggy Pop, some Northern Soul and a whole host of charming, but obscure pop nuggets. Tickets for this intimate gig are a snip at just £7 and the bar prices are very cheap too. It promises to be a truly great night. Contact: dixieernill@yahoo.co.uk for more details
