Katie Anderson photographs up-and-coming indie guitar/garage trio the Subways at a show at the Wedgewood Rooms in Portsmouth
Article
The Subways are a young guitar/garage rock trio from Welwyn Garden City in Hertfordshire.
The group. which consists of songwriter Billy Lunn (guitar/vocals), his former fiancee Charlotte Cooper (bass/vocals) and Josh Morgan (drums), first formed in 2003.
After the then still unsigned Subways were selected by promoter Michael Eavis to play Glastonbury on its Other Stage in 2004, they also went on in the same year to play the Carling Weekend in both Reading and Leeds.
The Subways released their debut album, 'Young for Eternity', in 2005. Their second album, 'All or Nothing', which has been released by Warner Brothers, and was produced in Los Angeles by Garbage drummer and Nirvana/Smashing Pumpkins producer Butch Vig, came out to good reviews at the end of June.
These photographs were taken in July by Katie Anderson at a date on a recent tour by the Subways at the Portsmouth Wedgewood Rooms.
