Stunning reworking of the blues on new single from minimilistic duo, Congregation
Review
Congregation are Benjamin Prosser and Victoria Yeulet and features minimal instrumentation. While Benjamin plays slide guitar and bass, Victoria plays leg bells and provides vocals. Within in a few seconds of listening to this single, you know that this band will be huge in the blues world. They do what Seasick Steve, PJ Harvey and the White Stripes also do well, creating dark music that is soulful and raw with guitar that eats into your raw soul.
‘Feels like Cryin’ sounds like a classic blues number from the Deep South of America. If you don't feel Victoria’s pain on it, then frankly you aren't alive.
‘Eyes So Blue’, the B side ,is even more bluesy still and has a tense rhythm to it.
