Thirst - Sail Away

Label: Wooden Records
Format: CDS
Riotous Ska flavoured pop, outclassed by a remix on its B side, from Brixton-based band the Thirst, who are signed to Ronnie Wood's Wooden Records label

Review

'Sail Away' is a riot of ska and cockney flavoured London pop in the style of Peter Doherty and Lily Allen, and a complete tale of escapism. It preceeds the Thirst's debut album, 'On the Brink', which will come out in May. The B side is 'Sail Away(The David E. Sugars Morning Jim Remix)'. The remix is much more spaced out than the main song, giving the track more room to breathe and is far superior because of this.It sounds like Bloc Party being put through a 1980's style 12 inch extended mixes, and, aimed to get a party going on a Friday night, is a dance floor classic. The Thirst are signed to Rolling Stones member Ronnie Wood's Wooden Records label. They have recently recorded with Peter Doherty on his new album, and have played shows supporting the Sex Pistols on their home patch of Brixton and also the Stones in Croatia.
