Fight Like Apes - Jake Summers

Label: Cool for Cats
Format: CDS
Unpretentious disco-based electronica on new single from Dublin-based band Fight Like Apes

Review

Synth pop seems to be in fashion at the moment – and why not? When it’s done right, it’s bloody fantastic! There’s nothing that’ll get your modern indie-disco connoisseur in the mood quite like a generous slice of keyboard-driven alternative dance cake, and Dublin’s Fight Like Apes have massive portions! The two songs featured on this single, ‘Jake Summers’ and ‘Battlestations’, are precisely what you want from a record: something that’s fun to listen to! These are the kind of tracks DJs should be playing in clubs; unpretentious songs that put a smile on your face and make you want to hit that dance floor and let loose - not a bunch of po-faced neo-goths; poncing around and pretending they don’t sound like a hideous mix of Queen and Status Quo. Save the Disco! Buy Fight Like Apes new single. After all, how can you not like a song that samples Edwood D. Wood Jnr’s inter-stellar masterpiece, ‘Plan 9 From Outer Space’?

Track Listing:-

1 Jake Summers
2 Battlestations
