Stations - Puzzle Hall, Sowerby Bridge, 10/8/2007

West Yorkshire-based band the Stations are gaining increasing popularity. With people having to stand outside and listen through the doorway, Helen Tipping is impressed by their fast apced indie music at a local gig at the Puzzle Hall Inn in Sowerby Bridge

The Stations are a local band from Hebden Bridge and Halifax. They are brothers Ben and Sean Jessen on guitar / vocals and drums and Steve Gligorovic on bass. They play fast paced indie music, with pounding drums and swirling guitars – all three are excellent musicians. The Puzzle Hall is a tiny pub, mainly home to jazz bands, but the Stations have filled it tonight with many people having to stand outside and listen through the doorway. Surely a testament to their popularity with local fans and people coming from further afield alike. Whilst they are still playing small venues, expect them to be moving onto larger ones soon. This is epic indie rock that deserves to be heard, and with 2 years’ hard work under their belts I hope they don’t have to wait much longer.
