Over safe and dull latest single from Glasgow-based group, Jeepster
Review
I’m not sure what to make of this single from the originally Glasgow based band. The main track 'If You Wanna?'is just a rehash of the Arctic Monkeys' 'I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor' without any of the ingredients that make that such a classic song, no witty social commentary, no rip roaring riffage, instead a brass band and a ska beat. Infuriatingly it seems like this band have something but are too scared to be bold and release it, instead sticking to safe territory.
Unfortunately it doesn’t get any better. 'Hoxton Hair', its other track, is any song you choose by the View who are themselves pure indie by numbers. There are too many bands that sound like Parka and there is nothing on this single that sets them apart. They have the ingredients to make something unique but seem to be running on empty.
