This year the Swedish retro wave funkster duo the Knife already has enjoyed quite some success. Lifted off their album as the new single comes 'Like A Pan'. The release should be of particular interest to collectors of the remixes from Thomas 'Ficken' Schumacher. The radio edit plus as well the extended club mix offer the Knife's usual popping house beats - which always work best when extended; yet Schumacher's deep overhaul does step on new territory with a smashing juxtaposition of flashing sounds from distorted synths with smooth beats. A techno trademark as it is, it always works. This single merely confirms both Schumacher's as well as the Knife's current dance market values.
