Review

This is the debut British single from Finnish trip-hop group Husky Rescue. It is taken from the group's forthcoming album ‘Ghost is Not Real’ which is due for release early next year. It is a song that it a dreamy mix of the likes of Morcheeba, Pink Floyd, Bjork and Metric, and its beautiful female vocals and atmospheric sounds transport you to another world. The single also has on offer sveral remixes which give you a much deeper insight into what this group are all about. The different mixes each sound like totally different songs. The acoustic guitar-led ‘Tunng Remix' sounds like it could be a part Nordic folk song, part soundtrack to a nature film. The ‘Deaf Stereo Mix’ echoes of the likes of Daft Punk and Pet Shop Boys with its electro sounds and compliments the spacey vocals without over shadowing them or seeming like they shouldn’t be there. As a set of five remixes of the same songs Husky Rescue do an incredible job of making one vocal track sound so different branching into several genres without any of them for a second sounding like filler or something to pad out the single package. If this is how inventive they can be with one song I am waiting with baited breath for the album and to see what they are capable over the space of ten plus songs.
